About the book

There is a vampire living at the bottom of Ailfí’s garden. His name is Marius, and he is no ordinary vampire: he would far rather have fig rolls and cake than any amount of blood and flesh.

Marius’s family left for a castle in Transylvania, coffin and all, while he was out foraging for fruit. Now he has only Ailfí. Between ultraviolet lamps and garlic necklaces, life is hard enough for an undead creature, and he gets rather tetchy when things do not go the way he thinks they should.

The first book in the series about Ailfí and Marius, for young readers aged 10 to 13 and for young-at-heart adults of every age. A glossary comes on the bookmark.
