Spéirling
Two friends on the island of Aruba, and a girl who came out of the sea.
About the book
Manon and Líosa are best friends in their teens, living on the Caribbean island of Aruba. They spend their summer holidays kayaking and shopping.
When they meet a girl their own age, alone in the water, a whole new set of adventures begins. This girl seems to have come from the deep itself, but how dearly did she pay for the legs she walks on?
A novel for teenagers that gives the old mermaid tale a modern, darker twist. Spéirling was shortlisted for Gradam Réics Carló 2019, the Irish-language Book of the Year for young readers.
