About the book

Orna Ní Choileáin’s first collection of short stories, and a varied one. Its ten stories carry the reader from human drama in the corporate world of technology and high finance, through airports and television studios, to a more traditional setting in the Bolivian Andes.

At the heart of each story is a single person, often a solitary one, written in a clear, fresh, readable style with a wry humour running through it.

Five of the stories, ‘Saineolaí Teicneolaí’, ‘Canary Wharf’, ‘Cosaint Sonraí’, ‘Cúrsaí Eitilte’ and ‘Mil’, have been on the prescribed material for Higher Level Irish in the Leaving Certificate since the 2015 examination.
